Cosmetic Surgery

You are probably aware that many people use expressions cosmetic and plastic sugery when they are talking about the same thing. By doing that, they created the illusion that those are two expressions for the same thing. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.

You'll maybe say it's not really important but for people looking to get one of these procedures done - it is! If you're thinking about a cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery, it helps to know what you are talking about. Right? Being informed and knowing which procedures fall under cosmetic surgery and which under plastic surgery keeps you safe from big mistakes or confusion.

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery is not as same as plastic surgery, they have different purposes. Cosmetic surgery improve the body, makes it look better. That is usually being done to improve the person’s self-esteem. Cosmetic surgery is not a necessity - the person only wants to appear more attractive. And that's it, there isn't a higher goal then that one. All those breast implants, butt implants and breast reductions are a cosmetic sugery procedures. Why? Simply because the surgeon is enhancing the already normal body. Anti-aging procedures such as face lifts or tummy tucks are also common cosmetic surgeries.

Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is widely known as a reparative or reconstructive surgery. That involves fixing some body part that is not normal and reconstructing it to appear normal again and function normal as well. Some people need need plastic surgery because of health complications due to some abnormal body part. For example, fixing a birth defect is what falls under the category of a plastic surgury.

There are some surgeries that are on the edge, like breasts augmentation. That's usually a cosmetic surgery, but when there's breast cancer involved, then the procedure is placed under the plastic surgery category. Breast augmentation is needed here to reconstruct the shape after the cancer has been removed from the body. That turns an abnormal structure into a normal looking structure again. One of the most famous procedure is rhinoplasty and it can be labeled as either plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery, it all depends on the reason for the plastic surgery.

When choosing a plastic surgeon for a cosmetic surgery, make sure he's licensed and board certified doctor. We said it before, but we will say it again - always ask questions and check all references of the plastic surgens you're dealing with. Good idea is to ask for some before and after photos of past clients he treated. If you are not comfortable with the surgeon or are not satisfied, simply find another one. Never settle for anyone when it comes to getting cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery.

Plastic Surgery For Moms

Plastic surgeries are mostly for women, according to the ASPS. Women make 87 percent of all plastic and cosmetic surgery patients, and numbers tell us that there were 7.2 million of females to have a procedure in 2007. Some of the surgeries involved reparations after masectomies but most of them, popularly called - mammy makeovers.

Women change as they grow old. Especially women that have babies. They are great little things, but many women choose to have a plastic surgery after they deliver the second one. It's not so easy to get back in shape, and sometimes that's impossible. There are simply some changes that you cant fix with diet and exercising, and that's why we need plastic surgery. Problems like extra weight on the hips and sagging breasts are not something you need to put up with.

Woman's body changes a lot when it comes through pregnancy. There are many muscles that expand and stretch due to increase of the uterus. And those changes are permanent, they can't be corrected again by simple exercises or just losing weight. This is where plastic surgery comes in place. Just think about woman's breasts during pregnancy - they end up smaller than before the pregnancy many times, but they are still saggy and you can't help it. Those old saggy breasts need a plastic surgery.

And therefore mommy makeovers are created. Good old mums want their shapes back, and some of them will do anything for it. Well, some of them didn't want to undergo several procedures in order to reach their goal. While plastic surgury can be done one procedure at the time, there is another solution. Liposuction, tummy tucks and breast lifts can be done all at once so a patient goes to her doctor just once and comes out with all procedures already finished in one shot. These type of plastic surgeries save a lot of precious time and money.

Why is there a sudden increase in the plastic surgery? Woman start having babies later in life, much more then 30 or 40 years ago. Now they are more older in average then before. Of course, money is not the problem and decision is made quite easy because they are more mature. All that remains is to go through with the plastic sugery. Most women don't expect to come out of the surgery looking like a supermodel, they just want their looks back and to remove those old saggy breasts.

Women that need mommy makeovers should spend some time do to their research. They should also understand that plastic surgery is an elective procedure, which is not covered by any insurance.

Plastic Surgery

It is not important why do you want a plastic surgery, what is important is that there are risks involved that you should know of before going through with any procedure.

More years your body has, the more risks there will be from a plastic sugery procedure. Sometimes plastis surgeon will turn down an older individual, but not because of the age discrimination. It is most likely that he sees some complications in a certain case and he doesn't want to pursue the operation. There's always some reason for what is happening, and following doctor’s orders can sometimes mean a lot, it's a difference between life and death itself.

Plastic surgury shouldn't be taken lightly. All women that have more then 50 years should reconsider their decision on plastic surgery. And especially those women with preexisting medical conditions. They should be even more concerned with what plastic surgens says to them.

The latest lesson we can all learn from is Donda West, mother of famous musician Kanye West. Official autopsy report revealed that she suffered from a preexisting coronary artery disease which was putting her in a high risk level. Her coronary artery disease was taken lightly. You should make the same mistake. If you have certain health condition, think well about it.

Cosmetic or plastic sugary requires that you consider all factors there are. What's the point of risking it if there's a chance you won't be even able to awake and see your self in the mirror again? Our body changes as we get older so we are more vulnerable to many diseases and are generally weaker. It's no wonder that old people are examined more then some 25 year old person. There's just a bigger risk involved there. Many risks are involved in plastic surgery and if there's a preexisting condition, you are way in the top for being a high risk patient. Before you even set a foot to the doctors office, you need to have preoperative evaluation to make sure you are clear for an operation. Having a plastic surgery with high risk will not benefit you, your doctor or your family.

What you need to do here is to have an evaluation. Take all necessary tests with laboratory results and physical evaluations. In the meantime, consider do you still want to go with it. Ask many questions to your surgeon and try to remember all little important things. If you are not allowed to have plastic surgery, listen to your doctor. Take a second opinion if you want, but that doesn't mean that having a procedure is a smart thing to do.

Take care - when reputable and legit plastis surgen has denied you plastic surgery, that means a lot. Do not test your luck and risk your life. Your family will be happy if you think twice about the plastic surgey.
