Plastic Surgery


Plastic surgery is widely known as a reparative or reconstructive surgery. That involves fixing some body part that is not normal and reconstructing it to appear normal again and function normal as well. Some people need need plastic surgery because of health complications due to some abnormal body part. For example, fixing a birth defect is what falls under the category of a plastic surgury.

There are some surgeries that are on the edge, like breasts augmentation. That's usually a cosmetic surgery, but when there's breast cancer involved, then the procedure is placed under the plastic surgery category. Breast augmentation is needed here to reconstruct the shape after the cancer has been removed from the body. That turns an abnormal structure into a normal looking structure again. One of the most famous procedure is rhinoplasty and it can be labeled as either plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery, it all depends on the reason for the plastic surgery.

When choosing a plastic surgeon for a cosmetic surgery, make sure he's licensed and board certified doctor. We said it before, but we will say it again - always ask questions and check all references of the plastic surgens you're dealing with. Good idea is to ask for some before and after photos of past clients he treated. If you are not comfortable with the surgeon or are not satisfied, simply find another one. Never settle for anyone when it comes to getting cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery.
